RESEARCH INTERESTS

My primary focus is the understanding of global and regional sea level variability (timescales from hours to centuries) and its link to coastal flooding. I am particularly interested in enhancing our understanding of the associated atmospheric and oceanic processes. With this aim, I develop advanced statistical approaches to describe the various processes in a physically meaningful way. One area where I have made important contributions is the processing of historical tide gauge records to establish their skill in describing storminess in different regions worldwide.
