• knowledge of the design and construction of steel structures
• relevant stability cases and basic knowledge of the associated design rules
• stability problems according to 2nd order theory
• steel fatigue design

Lehrinhalte

• materials (consolidation)
• fatigue-friendly design, design according to DIN EN 1993-1-9 (nominal stress concept)
• stability, design of members according to the equivalent member method
• crane girders (introduction)
• 2nd order calculation of structures

Written examination, 180 minutes

Prerequisite for admission to the examination

• Preparatory assessments on specified topics

Additional remarks

The elective module Steel Construction II requires good knowledge of Steel Construction I as well as engineering mechanics and structural mechanics.
