Flood risk and resilience in hydraulic engineering (M.Sc.)

Student learning goals

Upon completion of this module, students will know the fundamentals of risk and resilience in hydraulic engineering and will be able to assess the probability of different types of dam failure. Methods for estimating dam failures and predicting flood extents in dam failures are taught, as well as methodological skills for estimating risk and resilience. Students will be able to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of different flood design cases of hydraulic structures in terms of risk and/or resilience and learn methodological skills for decision making.
