On this page you will find information about the bachelor module Hydraulic Engineering II / Open channel flows (see module description).
Student learning goals
By taking this module, students acquire advanced knowledge in the field of inland hydraulic engineering, especially with regard to the planning, engineering and legal foundations for near-natural hydraulic engineering in NRW. They acquire competences for later professional practice with regard to reading and drawing up convention-compliant mappings and classifications, the current legal situation, as well as the most important scientific background of various measures in the field of renaturation, flood protection, sediment transport or the hydraulic effect of structures and vegetation in watercourses. In order to support a deeper entry into the subject and to present the range of possible job profiles, the contents are taught by several experts from teaching, research and industry by means of lectures, practical laboratory exercises and natural measurements.
Lecture/Exercise Dates
Lecture/Exercise: The module is taught on an annual basis and can be taken in the summer semester.
