Student learning goals

After completing this module, students will be familiar with the field of hydromechanics and the basic physical influencing factors and will be able to determine required/unknown coefficients for hydromechanical calculations (e.g. coefficient of a weir overflow) in the fields of channel flows using a measurement set-up in the laboratory. The basics for the physical and numerical modelling of flows in hydraulic engineering are taught. The students know the fields of application of hydraulic engineering experiments and the limits of applicability.
