Hydromechanics and Hydraulic Engineering (B.Sc.)
On this page you will find information about the bachelor module Hydromechanics and Hydraulic Engineering.
Student learning goals
The students acquire basic knowledge of hydromechanics and hydraulic engineering in theory and practice as well as the safe application of the procedures and methods for the calculation of hydraulic or hydromechanical tasks. After completing the module, students will be able, among other things, to calculate hydrostatic pressures and assess the floating stability of objects. They will be able to calculate the flows of ideal fluids in pipes and flumes and apply basic equations such as the continuity equation, the energy equation and the momentum theorem. To recognize the interrelationships in the design of hydraulic engineering facilities, the basic interactions between hydromechanics, hydraulic engineering, hydrology and water resources management are also taught.
Lecture/Exercise Dates
Lecture/Exercise: The module is taught on an annual basis and can be taken in the winter semester.
